Welcome to Owen County!

Owen County is truly the Heartbeat of the Golden Triangle.  Located entirely within the boundaries of I-75, I-71 and I-64, we are less than a one hour drive from Lexington, Louisville and Cincinnati, OH. 

Our county has a wealth of natural beauty with numerous lakes, streams and rolling ridges providing top quality fishing and hunting opportunities in the Commonwealth. 

The Kentucky River borders the entire western boundary of our county.  Eagle Creek, the world’s longest creek, flows through Owen County.  Elmer Davis Lake, managed by Kentucky Fish & Wildlife provides some of the best bluegill/crappie fishing in the state.

If you are going to be 65 in 2011 or if you are a totally disabled resident of Owen County, you should apply for the Homestead Exemption.

Fiscal Court Meeting Information

Fiscal Court meetings are the second Tuesday of the month at 6pm in the courthouse.  The work shop is the 4th Tuesday of the month at 6pm in the courthouse.

Sweet Owen Day
 

In the past few years, our festival has grown tremendously with vendors from within and out of the county.

With so many things to do from shopping, kids playing on the inflatables or just coming out to enjoy some good food and music, there was something for the whole family.

Sweet Owen Day 2011  was a great day for all those that  attended.  We had wonderful food, great music and a large number of vendors.  Sweet Owen Day Committee would like to thank all who were involved and helped out that day.  We want to thank all of the bands, vendors, and the attendees for a great event.

Sweet Owen Day 2012 is September 15th.  Mark your calendar and come and join us again for a great time.  We look forward to seeing you.

RELAY FOR LIFE

Relay For Life Kickoff Game February 10 starting at 5pm at OCHS gym.  Lady Rebels host a triple header starting with Trimble County.  Survivors get in free and please wear purple.  There are t-shirts on sale for $10.  Come out and support our Lady Rebels and Relay For Life.
