Minutes of the Owen County Fiscal Court

Regular Meeting

March 4, 2008

 

Regular term of the Owen County Fiscal Court held in the courthouse at Owenton, Kentucky on the 4th day of March 2008 with the Honorable William P. O’Banion presiding. Justices present were Jerry Jones, Bobby Gaines, Teresa Davis and Ray Smith.

 

Motion made by Teresa Davis 2nd by Bobby Gaines to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried unanimously.

 

Motion made by Jerry Jones 2nd Teresa Davis to approve the minutes of the February 12th, 2008 meeting as presented. Motion carried unanimously.

 

Motion made by Teresa Davis 2nd Jerry Jones to approve the recommendations from the Transportation Cabinet for the rural secondary program for the Fiscal Year 2008-2009. Motion carried unanimously.

 

Motion made by Bobby Gaines 2nd by Jerry Jones to approve the Carroll County Regional Detention  Facility contract as presented. Motion carried unanimously.

 

Motion made by Teresa Davis 2nd by Jerry Jones that the Fiscal Court has the right to ask for the refund of $31.00 per diem of prisoners stay based on the contract of the Carroll County detention facility or any other certified facility in the state of Kentucky. Motion carried unanimously.

 

Motion made by Bobby Gaines 2nd Teresa Davis to give permission to advertise for paper ballot scanning system. Motion carried unanimously.

 

Motion made by Teresa Davis 2nd by Ray Smith to declare the property surplus from the County Clerk’s office on list presented. Motion carried unanimously.

 

Motion made by Bobby Gaines 2nd by Jerry Jones to declare Arbor Day  as April 4, 2008. Motion carried unanimously.

 

Motion made by Bobby Gaines 2nd Jerry Jones to approve the appointments of  David Lyons to the Owen County Industrial Authority, and Robert Walker to the Owen County Health Board as presented. Motion carried unanimously.

 

Motion made by Teresa Davis 2nd by Bobby Gaines to accept the request from  Jonesville Fire Department to purchase a new radio for $1218.25. Motion carried unanimously.

 

Motion made by Jerry Jones 2nd by Teresa Davis to accept the interlocal cooperation agreement with the City of Gratz and the Ethics Authority of Owen County. Motion carried unanimously.

 

Motion made by Jerry Jones 2nd by Teresa Davis to adjourn. Motion carried unanimously.
