Q: When do I renew the registration for a vehicle that has a personalized plate?
A: Personalized Plate registrations are renewed each December and they expire December 31st of each year.

Q: Can I have the same personalized plate on a motorcycle and car?
A: No, a personalized plate character combination may only appear on one plate at any given time.

Q: Do I need to get a new personalized plate every year?
A: Every year you will have an option of whether you want a new plate or a new decal for the next time you come in to register your vehicle. Periodically, once every five years, because the plates design change, all customers will recieve a new plate with decal.

Q: When it comes time to renew my personalized plate, if I chose the option decal only, would that cost less than getting a whole new personalized plate.
A: No. whether a plate with a decal or a decal only is received at renewal, the fee is still $40.00 ($25.00 personalized fee + $15.00 registration fee

Q: Once I get a personalized plate do I have to apply for it each year?
A: No. Once a personalized plate is issued, it is reserved for the recipient each year. However, if a personalized plate registration is not renewed for the calendar year following the year in which it expires the personalized plate is no longer reserved.
