ORDINANCE # 148

AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE SPEED ON COUNTY ROADS

 WHEREAS, in view of the increased amount of vehicular traffic on the roads of Owen County and the excessive speed which some of them are traveling creating an unreasonable traffic hazard without regulations;

 NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE FISCAL COURT OF THE COUNTY OF OWEN, COMMONWEALTH OF KENTUCKY, THAT:

 The maximum speed limits are established on the Owen County Roads as specified in the list attached hereto.

 There are the maximum speed limits under ideal conditions and any operator of a motor vehicle exceeding these speeds may be cited to Owen District Court and violators will be subject to a fine in accordance with KRS 189.394.

 Introduced seconded and given first reading by the Owen County Fiscal Court this 14th day of June, 2005.
